The beautiful site for our private cottages and apartments is absolutely lovely -- nestled amidst cypress and oak trees on a peaceful six-acre campus-like setting. We’re walking distance from the shops and restaurants of quaint downtown Pacific Grove and historic Monterey Bay, where cool, crisp mornings, spectacular scenery and clean, fresh air all add to the Canterbury Woods experience.

Canterbury Woods is intended for qualified seniors 65 years or older who live without assistance, have met certain financial qualifications and are in good health for their age. As a prerequisite for admission, each resident is required to be enrolled in, and maintain Medicare Parts A and B. Once enrolled, a resident may remain at Canterbury Woods as their health and needs change…for the rest of their lives.

At Canterbury Woods, our studios, one or two bedroom apartments and cottages are carefully placed on six acres of wonderfully landscaped and maintained grounds, including a tranquil Japanese garden, central courtyard (site of many popular community events!), and the spectacular Jade Meditation Garden. Apartments and cottages are finished like fine homes, and that’s just what they feel like inside with:

Our culinary staff includes a professionally trained chef and dietician along with waitpersons who ensure that each serving is as attractive as it is delicious (and nutritious). Residents enjoy the opportunity to choose from a selection of entrees served buffet-style or from a menu…at each meal…every day. Our open and spacious dining room (where casual dress is the choice of many residents) has a lovely view of the rose garden and central courtyard. What could be more enjoyable!
