Avila Gardens, a residence for active seniors owned and operated by the Carmelite Sisters, is located in the heart of California's beautiful San Gabriel Valley.

Avila features a magnificent two-story Mediterranean-style building amid three acres of lushly landscaped grounds.

Avila Gardens is located alongside a quiet residential neighborhood, large city park, historical museum, and golf course.

Avila Gardens is named after Saint Teresa of Avila, a 16th century religious foundress of the Discalced Carmelites and Doctor of The Church. She is the patroness of Avila Gardens. Her words: "Let nothing disturb thee. Let nothing affright thee. All things are passing, only God suffices," invites all to a place of peace, beauty, and tranquility reminiscent of Avila, Spain. Avila Gardens provides a distinctive environment oriented toward a single blessing, namely the Gardens. The name, Gardens, means Carmel and is a special place of rest where one encountered and walked with God. Avila Gardens not only commemorates the city where our Saint was born, but also where she served Him faithfully over 400 years ago.
