The region has several excellent wineries and is known for its recreational activities in and along the Russian River. The Sonoma Coast is also dotted with small hamlets such as Bodega Bay, made famous in Alfred Hitchcock's film, "The Birds", Jenner, and the Sea Ranch. Both Santa Rosa Junior College and Sonoma State University cater to our senior population through educational classes they offer - some conducted here at Vineyard Commons.
