Palmdale is a fast-growing community, perhaps best known as the home of Edwards Air Force Base, frequent site of return landings of the Space Shuttle. In early 2009, it will also be home to the Palmdale Regional Medical Center, a state-of-the-art, full-service hospital which promises to have the largest emergency room in the Antelope Valley.
