The fenced and gated Village sits on four beautifully landscaped acres south of Bethel Home and is composed of 36 apartment style cottages grouped within 9 units of 4 apartments. It provides independent senior living for individuals 62 years of age and older. Each cottage features 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (1 of which is completely handicapped accessible with a roll in shower) as well as a living room, dining area, kitchen with range, oven, disposal, microwave, and dishwasher, washer/dryer hookups, and plenty of storage space. Additionally, covered parking spaces are available for those who still drive.
The cottages are wired for ceiling fans and furnished with carpets and window coverings. Smoke detectors, a fire sprinkler system, and an emergency call/alarm system are also provided and add to the resident's safety and security.
Among the amenities included in the basic rent are one delicious meal a day served at noon in the quiet elegance of the dining room in the Village Commons Building, a well stocked library and weekly church service in the chapel, both of which are also in the Commons Building, twice-a-month house cleaning service, scheduled local transportation, a monthly wellness clinic, a fitness program, and organized outings aimed at appealing to seniors on the go. Other services such as a beauty/barber shop, guest meals, additional housekeeping, laundry, and ironing are available for an additional fee.
The 47 current residents of The Village are enjoying maintaining an active lifestyle while living in a park-like setting. They can maintain their privacy
when desired and they are also able to take advantage of daily interaction with friends and neighbors. They especially like the freedom from "chores" such as cleaning, yard work, and general maintenance a home demands.
A major difference between Bethel Village and most other senior independent living facilities in the San Joaquin Valley is that occupancy is via monthly rent and, other than a required security deposit, it is not necessary to sign a lease and pay a large down payment or "buy in" fee. Single occupancy monthly rent for a
cottage of 1110 square feet is $1830.00 and $2035.00 for a slightly larger 1210 square foot cottage. A second person adds $305.00 to the fee.
